Meet The Kids
**Because of confidentiality and legal reasons, we cannot show pictures of the kids BUT we can share our stories, their stories and the pictures they make for us. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Richard and Jil Edmonds have 5 adopted children Ariana, 15, Nicholas, 12, Elijah, 9, Ethan, 7, and Faith 7. All of the kids have been with Richard and Jil since they were newborns except for Ariana who was 8 and her brother Elijah who was 1 and 1/2. Ethan and Faith are not twins. Ethan was adopted before Faith. Project Suite Pea just did a room for the Edmonds but it was especially for Ethan. Ethan has a severe heart condition and many other issues. He has already had over 20 surgeries which have included 3 open heart surgeries. Ethan is still really sick and has to have a 4th open heart surgery. The doctors are giving him a 30% chance to survive this 4th open heart surgery. During all this with all of this with Ethan, the mother Jil has been diagnosed with terminally ill cancer that started in her breast and has spread to her heart, lungs, pancreas, bones and liver.
Project Suite Pea has started a foundation to help this family. You can make a donation through Project Suite Pea and the funds go to their foundation. 1/3 of the money raised through Project Suite Pea will also go to the foundation. Please keep the Edmonds in your thoughts and prayers.

Project Suite Pea had the pleasure meeting Sierra, 17 and her two boys John Paul 2 and Jordan 3 months. Sierra has struggled to give her boys a home and a normal life. Through Lifeworks she was able to get an apartment to call home and with the help of Project Suite Pea and our many voluteers and supporters we were able to give her the resources and items to call her apartment home. She will be able to take these things with her and call them her own. Sierra is a bright and caring young girl with a great future ahead of her.
Jacob is 8 years old. He has blond hair, blue eyes and a heart of gold. He was such a big helper to us while we were working at the shelter. He helped us paint the walls and clean our paint brushes and paint pans. Jacob has 7 siblings. Unfortunately Jacob cannot be at the same shelter with his siblings. Jacob loves to make art, play sports and he likes cheetahs. While I was there, his favorite thing was to help and get hugs. It broke my heart because Jacob asked me when I was coming back and I said I wasn't sure and he said well I probably won't be here because they are moving me to another shelter. No child should have to worry where they will be the next day. To make friends at every place he goes and then has to do it all over again. Not knowing what will happen from one day to the next but that is the world of emergency shelters and foster homes. No child should have to endure this time of life. Please keep Jacob and all these kids in your prayers. My life has been blessed by meeting these wonderful kids. Please enjoy his artwork below.

GREAT NEWS!!!! Jacob went to New York to live with an uncle sometime in late June/early July. We are so excited that he is with family.
Maya is 8 years old. She has long dark hair and light green eyes. She is absolutely beautiful. Maya LOVES hugs and kisses. She can't get enough. Maya also LOVES kittens and the color blue. It was such a pleasure meeting her. She also helped us paint and clean. Maya is at the shelter with her 5 year old brother Nick. Her story is also very similar to Jacob's. She was very worried she wouldn't see me again. I have gone several times to visit and so far and she is still there and she tells me how much she has missed me. For the short time I get to be in her life I try to fill it with love and appreciation for her being her. She is bright and very caring. She wrote me a song. I have posted it below. You have to look beyond the misspelled words because this song came from her heart. After being around Maya and the others, I wanted so badly to become a foster parent. These kids need a good home and just want to be loved. Anything we can do to help these kids along the way can make a huge difference. I have seen it on their faces. You can be a part of that through Project Suite Pea and other organizations in your area. Get involved and meet a Maya today.

Maya and her brother Nickademous were placed in a foster home that were considering adoption. We are so happy that there were able to stay together and a good family is considering adoption. We hope that more families are able to give these kids good homes.
They call Nickademous Nick for short. He is Maya's little brother. He is so cute. When he first arrived at the shelter he just turned 5 years old. The house parents at the shelter had to teach him how to brush his teeth, dress himself and go to the bathroom. He loves to smile and help out with whatever you are doing. Nick was the lucky little boy who we were able to reveal the "travel room" after we finished one Saturday afternoon. He had a smile from ear to ear. After we showed him the room, we ordered pizza for the kids. We had to go find Nick (who was still in the room an hour and a half later reading the new books we put next to his bed) and ask him to join us for the pizza party. The smile on his face that day makes everything Project Suite Pea does worth it. Believe it or not, but it is a lot of work to raise the money and goods to create these dream rooms and spaces for these children. Join forces with Project Suite Pea today and help make a difference in child's life even if it is for a day.
Nickademous and his sister Maya were placed in a foster home that were considering adoption. We are so happy that there were able to stay together and a good family is considering adoption. We hope that more families are able to give these kids good homes.
I had the pleasure to meet Amanda, age 15, while she was staying at the Starry Emergency Children Shelter. This beautiful brown hair and blue eyed girl from Waco has such a great spirit about herself. She is a die hard Cowboy's fan. She has a jersey she brought with her from home hung above her bed. During Amanda's stay at the shelter, she was always complimented by the director for never having to be told to clean her room or do her part around the house. Whenever I mentioned the Dallas Cowboys, she smiled from ear to ear. Amanda has already left the shelter and placed with her older sister. We are so happy to see that she was able to be placed with family. Please pray that all these kids are able to have this kind of happy ending as well.
I met Justice just briefly during her stay at the Starry Emergency Children Shelter. She likes music and playing volleyball. She was not at the shelter very long. She was already moved to another home. Please keep Justice in your prayers that she will be able to be reunited with her family and siblings.
**One night in July, Starry Emergency Children Shelter had 3 set of 4 siblings brought to the shelter between midnight and 3 in the morning. I hate to think of the circumstances that they had to leave their house at such hours. These are the cases and the children that Project Suite Pea aims to help. We can't do it only. Please contact Sherie at projectsuitepea@yahoo.com to see how you can help make a difference.
